English Colonial Charters

From BibleStrength

The following are English Colonial Charters which evidence the Christian nature of the early founding of the U.S. colonies. These charters are provided primarily for historical purposes. For evidence showing that the colonists themselves, even separate from their English rulers, intended the colonies (now U.S. states) to be Christian, see United States Charters and Constitutions.

As seen from the earliest charters (e.g. New England's 1620 charter) the original settlement of the Americas was authorized by King James in the interest of spreading Christianity and English rule. King James, best-known for authorizing the King James Version of the Bible, was a Christian scholar who wanted a new land settled for Christians to live in peace together. King James' later descendants acknowledged his Christian wishes when authoring their own charters to the colonies.
